The Wood Lake Nature Center is bringing in four Upper Midwest parks experts for its winter speakers series, including the executive director of the Friends of the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness.
The events all take place at the nature center, 6710 Lake Shore Drive, on Thursday nights from 7-8 p.m. and are free, though donations will be accepted.
Here's the line-up:
Jan. 20 - Amy Barrett and Linda Radimecky presented "Your Minnesota State Parks," which will explore the variety of activities possible at the state's 67 state parks.
Feb. 24 - Paul Danicic, executive director of Friends of the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness, will host "Adentures in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness," which will include tips on how to plan a trip for people of all outdoor abilities.
March 10 - National Park Ranger Dan Dressler will present "National Parks in Your Neck of the Woods," a look at the five national park sites in Minnesota with advice about how to plan a summer vacation.
