Arrested for lying - A 35-year-old Minneapolis man was jailed for giving a false name to a police officer the morning of April 26. The man gave officers his brother's identification when they were investigating a mother-daughter domestic incident at a home in the 6400 block of Pleasant Avenue South.
Boyfriend arrested - A Brooklyn Center man who slapped his girlfriend's face during an argument just after midnight April 27 ended up in jail for domestic assault. The 24-year-old woman, who was wearing glasses at the time, suffered a facial cut but didn't require medical treatment. The fight occured in her apartment in the 7200 block of Cedar Avenue South.
Shoplifted shoes - A 41-year-old Plum City, Wis., man was cited for shoplifting the afternoon of April 26 after he stole a $65 pair of Nike shoes from Famous Footware, 6515 Richfield Parkway. Police were not able to apprehend a woman in her 30s who shoplifted a $35 pair of shoes the night of April 27 from Payless Shoes, 4 66th St. E.

Wife arrested - A 27-year-old Richfield woman was arrested and jailed about 10 p.m. April 19 after threatening her husband with a large hand saw. An argument in the couple's apartment in the 7700 block of Penn Avenue South led to pushing and punching before police arrived. The 27-year-old husband did not require medical treatment.
Shoplifting trio- Three North Minneapolis women in their 20s were arrested just after 3:30 p.m. April 19 at Dots Fashions, 32 66th St. E., for attempting to steal $107 worth of women's underwear and shoes.
Domestic assault - A 24-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested after a police officer calling a Richfield residence the evening of April 19 heard an argument in the background. Richfield police went to the 23-year-old woman's home in the 900 block of 77th Street East and arrested the man for assault and making threats.
Home burglary - Police are investigating a break-in the night of April 19 at a home in the 6300 block of Vincent Avenue South. A burglar or burglars apparently used a crowbar to break a bedroom window while the owner was away. The house had been ransacked, but a neighbor called police did not know if anything had been stolen.

Part stolen - A 36-year-old man reported that the catalytic converter in his 2002 Mercury Mountaineer was stolen April 12 from a residence in the 7700 block of 12th Avenue South. The part is valued at $500.
SUV taken- A 23-year-old woman called police when she noticed her 1998 Chevorlet Tahoe was stolen from a parking lot in the 800 block of  65th Street West.
Home burglarized - Jewelry valued at $7,000, $40 cash and a credit card were taken during a burglary April 12 in the 6500 block of Woodlake Drive.
Drunken driving - A 21-year-old Brooklyn Park man was arrested about 11:30 p.m. on April 13 for driving under the influence. The man was driving erratically, and the car was damaged and smoking when the police pulled him over near 77th and Portland.

Drug arrest - A 24-year-old South Minneapolis man was arrested and jailed the afternoon of April 10 for possession of drugs and counterfeit currency. Police pulled over the man's vehicle near the intersection of 15th Avenue South and 66th Street East because its windows were illegally tinted. During a search,  they found hydrocodone, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and counterfiet $100, $50 and $20 bills.
Gun possession - Two 21-year-old men, one from Richfield and one from Burnsville, were arrested about 9 p.m. on April 10 after they jumped from a car and ran from police in the 7200 block of 17th Avenue South. Police found weapons in the Richfield man's home and charged the pair with possession of a firearm without a permit.
Car stolen -  A 58-year-old Richfield woman told police she thinks a person visiting her home to play cards on March 31 took the keys to her 2008 Kia Optima from the top of a desk and then stole the car, valued at $7,500.
